One for the "Had to be there" column...
Zach is learning rhyming at school. Sometimes when he hears a word, he'll practice by just rhyming along with it, whether it makes sense or not. So if he hears "frog", he'll just start spouting out "log, dog, mog, pog, wog....", etc. Some are real words, others not. But he's learning and having a good time. He also gets a kick out of rhyming sayings that he hears from other people. Aunt Dawnie tells him, "See ya later alligator". So he's been working on coming up with his own sayings that rhyme and not just rhyming words.
The other day we were heading out the door and we always turn off the lights as we leave. Heading out the door, I heard my sweet little 4 year old son yell over his shoulder, "Flip the switch bitch".
He has no idea what he said. To him it was just more nonsense rhyming.
If he knew what he was saying, he'd be in trouble. But the fact that he didn't makes me crack up every time I replay it in my head. I'm just glad we weren't in public.... =)
